//Write Authentically//

Hi beautiful people, hope everyone had a great Palm Sunday.

Okay lets get to it, this post is for writers

If you are a writer or an aspiring writer I want to encourage you to write authentically.

//Write Authentically//

What do I mean? Glad you asked

I mean write honestly, write what’s on your mind, just be real, its okay to not be okay. If you feel sad, write about it, if you are angry, write about it, if you feel alone, write about it.

I think its hard to be real because we are afraid we’ll be judged by people that we know/don’t know. If you struggle with something, SPEAK UP, SAY SOMETHING!!!

Write your heart out til you can’t write no more.

Be YOU when you write..

Be AUTHENTICALLY YOU when you are writing…

Stay Awesome, love you ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥

2017: A Reflection

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well and ready for Christmas. (if you celebrate Christmas that is)

So I want to start out by saying thank you so much for reading my content, and thank you for the encouraging words you’ve commented, it has honestly been such a joy to be able to share life, and talk about what God has done in my life.

Now I wanna be real for a few minutes, this year has been rough, this year has been filled to the brim with trials, and that probably won’t stop, trials are going to come in this life. Jesus even talks about us (ALL of us, Christian and non-Christian) will have trouble.

This year has been painful, found out a friend of mine that I went to middle school, and high school passed away last year, I work with elderly people, and had two friends pass away this year, had to end a relationship earlier this year, had a car accident in June, and had a skateboarding accident in July. (On my birthday, my fault)

This year by far has been probably the suckiest year yet, but at the same time, its been filled with so much joy. I got to see and perform with a friend of mine’s band, I got to drive all the way out to Manchester, Maryland to go see my favorite poet at a garage show. (an almost 2 hour drive I might add) Friendships I destroyed due to careless words have been redeemed, and restored.

Yet throughout all the bad, and the good, the main thing is that God has still been with me.

every. step. of. the. way.

He’s been so patient, so merciful, and so good to me, its ridiculous. God can really redeem and restore what is broken. I don’t deserve it, but He does it any way out of His love for me.

He’s been my physical, and spiritual physician this year, and He will continue to be. I honestly will be looking forward to seeing what He does in me and through me this upcoming new year.

I just know it will be a new year this year, a year to try new things, to learn new things, to grow, to step out a little bit of my comfort zone, to get uncomfortable,

To live… and truly live

2018 I’m ready for you

Thanks again to everyone that reads my blog, I love y’all so much!! Stay awesome!!

Honesty With God (for God’s sake)

Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well.

I’m here to set the record straight

Honesty sucks..being vulnerable sucks..

There I said it..

But before you judge me or decide to write some comment, I want to say being honest and vulnerable are necessary.

Its necessary if you are in a relationship, its necessary in terms of friendships, its necessary in family life, heck even being honest with yourself..

Being honest and vulnerable, yeah at first it sucks, but its worth it. I spent a good majority of my life lying in the past, let me say it doesn’t turn out good. EVER!

This year being honest with God has been the most hardest, yet the best thing I’m learning to grow into. Every time I felt sad or angry, I never talked with Him about whatever was wrong because I was afraid He would leave me, or be mad at me. So I would keep it to myself, we all know how that goes.. #wronganswer

Here’s the interesting thing though about God, HE SEES EVERYTHING!! HE EVEN KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE GONNA THINK BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK IT! trippy huh?

A friend helped me understand something, I struggled with the “well if He knows everything what’s the point in being honest with Him?” My friend told me the whole point of us (believers) being honest with God is so that way He could put someone new inside our hearts.

Now I’m learning how to tell God how I feel ,and just let Him have my burdens. Its still not easy, there are days I still go to other people for my problems rather than go to God first.

I MUST GO TO GOD FIRST!

No matter what it is, I have to go to Him first. We all do.

Prayer: Father In Jesus name, help us to be honest with you and go to You FIRST & FOREMOST!

Stay awesome yall, love you ❤️🔥

4:02pm To The Doubtful Believer

To the one(s) who struggle with doubt, or have trouble believing. I want you to know that Jesus still loves you even in the midst of your doubt, and I’m also in your corner.

Jesus never will be afraid of your doubt, and He won’t leave you when you express how you feel, or what you believe. He doesn’t say, “oh forget it” and throw His hands up. HE LOVES WHEN YOU BRING YOUR HONESTY, YOUR QUESTIONS, AND YOUR DOUBTS TO HIM!

1 Peter 5:7 says “to cast ALL your cares, anxieties, or burdens (whatever translation you use) upon Him, because He CARES FOR YOU.” He cares for you as a person, but he also cares about your soul.

Doubt sucks, its unfortunately part of the broken world we live in. I won’t lie I’ve definitely lived in doubt in the past, and what felt like forever. Its also a scary thing cuz doubt is something that we aren’t comfortable with, it makes us feel uncertain.

Doubt also means we are simply believing a lie, sometimes with a lie, you must replace the lie with Truth. I know for me as of recently I’ve been lacking in truth, and the truth being Jesus.

Jesus is still in love with you, He treasures you, He adores you, he doesn’t want you to stay in your doubt, He wants you to believe, to have faith in Him, and who He says He is.  He is still faithful and committed to you even when we are faithless.

God is so good.

He loves and cares for you my friends.

A Psalm A Day

Hey, what’s up fam? Hope everyone’s day was good. 😊

This past Sunday I’ve decided to start doing my own sort of devotional and I call it ‘A Psalm A Day.’

Basically, if a particular verse sticks out to me, or if I want to understand more of what the Psalmist is trying to communicate I will focus on said verses.
Also, I have to read an entire chapter of the Psalms not just certain verses that I’m comfortable with reading.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been the best at persevering when it comes to pretty much a lot of things.
The Bible unfortunately is definitely one of those many things that I have trouble focusing on.
Staying focus is definitely not an easy task for me. So pray for me..
They don’t call it a devotional for no reason I guess.
Anyways, hopefully within a few days I’ll try and write a post about Psalm 1:3 because I got something out of that verse yesterday.
A Psalm a Day, keeps the devil away, haha!

Stay awesome guys, love you ❤️😱😀🙌🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽

11:27am; What is Worship?

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well.

So I’m gonna take on a rough topic today, I wanted to write it sooner but never really knew what to say. So here goes nothing, or maybe everything…

So I want to ask the question, What is Worship?

Seems sort of broad I know, in the context in which I ask this question I mean

what is it that we worship, what holds our affection the most, what or who is our first love? What do you desire the most?

I’m not asking to make anyone feel guilty, I constantly ask this question of myself. I think we ought do “spiritual check ups” and make sure our hearts are set, fixed, locked and loaded on Jesus.

I believe we all worship something.. whether that be a person, a career, a hobby, etc.

All those aren’t bad, but they can become an idol if its not put in its proper place. Jesus says whereever your treasure is, that’s where your heart will be also.

Some of my idols would be:

Music, friendships, having fun, acceptance..

You might think those aren’t that bad, but the fear of man can cripple someone if you are a people pleaser. Been there, done that..

In Deuteronomy 6:5 its to LOVE the Lord your God with ALL your HEART, SOUL, MIGHT & STRENGTH.

Let Jesus be your first love, cuz He LOVES YOU, forgives you, wants to be with you, He made you for His own.

Stay awesome y’all, love y’all

11:00pm Last Night; Why Our Words Matter..

Hey everyone

So I’ve been wanting to write something on this topic for awhile and its something I’ve been pondering and am still working on.

Work in progress anyone?…. 🙌🏽

*Crickets*

Anyways, so yes your words matter, what you say to others, what you say about others when they aren’t around, and also what you say to and about yourself matters as well.

Your words hold power, you can either speak life into a situation or you can speak death into a situation, I would even argue and say that your words are more than just words.

What you say to people matters as well, you can either build people up or tear people down with your words.

The words we speak often reflect what we believe about ourselves and others. Our words matter more than we think.

So together, lets be kind with our words, lets speak life rather than death into someone’s life and into each other’s lives, families, friends etc.

Stay awesome, love y’all

I Don’t Know Where I Would Be Without Him

Hey everyone, I hope you all have had an amazing, restful weekend.

I’m going to take you all back a little bit to sometime around I wanna say after 12th grade. I was volunteering at a retirement home my grandfather was living at the time.

It was around 9am in the morning, it was a cool morning, and I took a woman outside to enjoy the weather because it was nice out. Her and I talked for a little bit, then I asked her out of nowhere “do you believe in God?”

She then tells me the following..

“That’s such a weird question of you to ask, of course I believe in God, I don’t know where I would be without Him.”

That put a smile on my face.

I honestly don’t know where I would be without Jesus, I had plenty of days without Him in the past, and those days I felt depressed, those days were dark.

Now I have Him in my life, and He’s so good, although when life gets hard I still have a hard time going to Him, trusting Him.

Yeah..I’m not perfect.. but He is

He’s beautiful, and I honestly don’t know where I would be without Him. Let Jesus love you and get to know you.

Stay awesome yall, love you

My Instagram Life

Hey everyone, its been awhile since I last posted something. 😀

Well lets get to it…

I feel a lot of my life has been consumed by Instagram as of recently. Mostly I post guitar videos, my song lyrics, biblical or even inspirational posts. I even have posted about some of my hard times and try to be real to some extent.

I believe if you are going to share the good stuff in your life, you should be willing to share the bad as well.

If we are honest, when on any social media all you see are people’s high points, people’s highlight reels or sometimes we feel we “need” to post-just to post something, or it could be just flat out bordem.

I’m not saying Instagram is bad, but it does get bad where if you don’t control  your posting habits, it tends to control YOU!

In Soviet Russia, Instagram controls you…<<<<<<
s after that stupid attempt of making a joke, my point is I know I need to make a change, do something different other just be on my phone, cuz in all actuality, your Instagram is not REAL life, its just like 1% of your life.

I’m not just writing this for you, I’m writing this for me too.

Love y’all, stay awesome ❤️🙌🏽🔥

2017: Life is sometimes like a Fiery Furnace (Courage Devotion)

Hey everyone, hope you all are having an awesome weekend, I pray all is well.

In Daniel chapter 3 we see this scene where Nebuchadnezzar sets up the golden image and tells everyone to bow down and worship the image and if they don’t, he would toss them in the furnace.

“Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3:15-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So lets be honest my friends, life is sometimes like a fiery furnace, life can be hard as hell sometimes but it can also be like fire.

I’ll be honest this year has been a bit trying, my first car accident, had friends pass away but then seeing the stuff in the news has been the least to say…not so good.

Life can be difficult ,but its worth going through the hard things in life. Grief is a gift and it comes at different times and different seasons. Jesus says here while we are on this earth we will all have trouble, but to take heart because HE has overcome the world.

With Jesus we can overcome any situation that seems impossible to us. I firmly believe that. Jesus overcame the most impossible situation life had for him which was…

Death itself…

Death wasn’t the end though, He came back three days later, talk about insane right?!

Anyways all of that to say is let the Lord be Lord over the fire rather than get burned by it.

Hope you all have an amazing week til next time.

Austin Jenkins over and out
